OK so I looked at your pic closer and I see 1 for sure blue and 1 for sure splash. Now the black one I assume is an EE. The one that confuses me is the white one. Sure looks suspiciously like a LS chick. And if it is you know what that means? As careful as I try to be I put an egg in the wrong pocket when I was collecting eggs!! OH NO!!

I always put LS in my left pocket and BLRW in the right pocket. If I did I'll sure be happy to make it right if you want!

Quenston Congrats! Isn't it amazing!!

The eggs in the hatcher are pipping and beginning to hatch! 2 Delawares are out -- there are 17 eggs total, 3 blue eggs for THough, 2 cochin or silkie eggs, and the rest Delawares. I am SUPER happy with my Sportsman 1202.

Congrats everyone on pipping, zipping and hatching!

I have the one egg still trying to zip I think. And I have 2 others trying to make the initial break through. They are all rocking and I can hear peeping.
I can tell this is going to be an addiction haha

catwalk: Bummer. Sounds like you have a good solution for next time though. Good luck & try again. A couple of hatches ago, I started putting the date of setting/started in incubator on one side closer to the top/wide end (like 1/7) in the place you would put an X (for turning & an 0 on the other side). With the date, I don't forget & can also see which side is up easily; especially good if it's late &/or I'm tired.

The Warden: Congrats, what cutie pies! Love your pictures, they are often colorful. At first glance, I thought I saw a piece of whole wheat toast with some of my cherry jam on it. Just glance at that picture & tell me you don't see it too! Well, gotta go make dinner now, getting hungry I suppose.

Yeah! Lockdowns, chicks & pips going on all over. It's fun to hear about, while I wait for mine.

Recandled to day the first ones set (Jan 6th, 2010) out of the 9 set

Removed 1 light Brahma, 1 EE & 1 New Hampshire eggs as they were clear on candling today. When opened they were infertile to start with.

Left of the first setting in the incubator:
4 Light Brahma
2 EE

left 2nd setting as they are only on day 5.

I HAVE A BABY CHICKEN!

I had to leave the house at 5:00 pm and go to a meeting. Of course, I checked the 'bator before I left - nothin' doing. I got to the meeting about 5:45 and as soon as I walked in the door my DH called and said"There's a chick in the incubator, what do I do?" I actually thought he was playing a joke on me because he's been teasing me that, of course since I had to be gone this evening, the eggs would hatch. But he was serious. I'm so excited. No other pips yet but here is baby #1, an EE/Faverolles cross.
