quenston: Stethescope! Gotta get me one, it'll beat just staring.

hcammack: I've been seeing pictures of single hatches with a small stuffed animal in with them. It might be a comfort to a single chickie. I haven't tried it yet, but wished I knew about it earlier this year with my single. Looking forward to a picture.

I have one egg tapping and cheeping when I candled this morning. It is a 1 1/2 days early, but should I go ahead and put the 'bator in lockdown?

I have a total of 21 today I had to remove some from the bator this evening but all are doing fine here are some pictures:

Here's the bulk of my current hatch -- there are a couple of bantams trailing along...

The three chubby cheeks in the back are EE's, the little black one is a mixed bantam, and the blondies are Delawares. The reddish one is a whoops...LOL...not sure WHAT that one is! Musta set an egg out of the wrong pocket.

i'm still waiting for a sign that they are going to hatch. tomorrow is day 21 but so far no rocking or tapping

. i guess i got spoiled with my last hatch when i had some that hatched on day 19 and 20 with the last one hatching early on day 21. hopefully these ones will start doing something soon. how do you tell if they didn't make it with out opening the bator?

When do the eggs start to wiggle? Is it days before hatch, or right before? Or chirping?

Sometimes mine don't wiggle, or peep, until they pip the shell.

I have one hatching right now that wiggled 3 days ago. It sure had me worried when he didn't pip but today is day 22 and he's going to town on that egg. First one!
