That left 14. Of those, 4 were still questionable,

but 4 looked good

One of them, tho', seems to have the air cell in the pointy end. Advice on possible intervention there? The time has come for Eunice to sit on her hands, practice patience

Last night we had a power outage, the incubator was down to room temperature for at least an hour before I discovered it. The power went out while I was grocery shopping, and I came back to a cold incubator. I hurriedly started stuffing eggs into my pockets and everywhere warm on me I could think to stick an egg, and as soon as I had them all arranged, the power came back on! So back in the incubator they went.

Then, I went to turn them this morning, and the thermometer in the incubator read 120 degrees! I thought maybe it was wrong, hoped it was wrong, read the other thermometer in there. 120 degrees. The eggs were hot to the touch. I opened up the incubator and let them cool down, but I don't know if they survived. I don't know how long it was that hot, could have been all night, or only a short time.

This LG incubator does not hold a stable temperature very well at all. I have not touched the temperature control or changed anything, and it will randomly shoot way up like that. Time for a different one, I think.

I'm praying that maybe something survived, but it's probably not going to happen, right? It's day 15.

I hope something survives....sometimes they can be tough little babies.

Today's day 14 on my Wheaten/Blue Wheaten from pips&peeps and my project eggs. All look good!

Good Luck to all the rest of you who are hatching this month! I am finished up. A disappointing but educational hatch. I do have two happy and healthy little monsters running around the brooder and plan to put another 24 eggs in the incubator sometime next week . . . so I guess we'll have to have a February Hatch-a-Long!

Sending all of you the best of hatching vibes!

Like: I forgot to listen to them
ep.gif
I should have arranged them differently in the carton!

It is quite obvious that "Madcap" and "patience" do NOT belong in the same sentence!!

On the other hand, 'Eunice" means "happy victory' or some such ................

Are we supposed to listen before we lockdown?? I lockdown tomorrow. Just want to be sure I do it right. I haven't heard anything yet... and I hand turn, so I have to open the bator. Can you hear something on day 18? I'd be so excited to hear something! Or see movement.
