I just candled the 4 Serama eggs that I put under my broody silkie last Saturday. 3 of them have spiders. 1 of them looks weird. It has an uneven air sac and what looks like a large red ring instead of a spider.

unfortunately that is one of the biggest “cons” to using the janoelle incubator.....the lid is very difficult to deal with. i’ve had something happen nearly every hatch. (power outage, lid off, or inadvertently unplugged). and i don’t have young children!! low temps/humidity this early shouldn’t hurt your hatch overall. and imo chicken eggs are more forgiving. temp spikes and humidity problems during lockdown are more of a concern. The lid got left off my incubator for a few hours! The temp was about 60f when I found them. I think it was three or four hours. I hope they're okay. They'll be a week this Sunday. The kids aren't allowed to touch until retraining happens.

My dh managed to trip over the cord to my nurture rite 360 and unplug it for at least an afternoon..... yeah eggs were 60ish degrees.... that's why we are still waiting for the last egg to hatch, they were due the 8th....The lid got left off my incubator for a few hours! The temp was about 60f when I found them. I can't talk myself Out of any of them.... I love my colored eggs , I was impressed with my Delaware crosses, the black australorp seem to be a great egg layer so far.....ahhh oh and dd loves the Nn.... I still enjoy seeing the large white eggs my white leghorn laysThey are starting to catch on over here in AZ. There are a few of us that will be going strictly to doing the NN's, because they work out so well as a desert hot summer's bird. I'm even trying to sell off my fully feathered necked hen's now.

once you candle it will reassure you!
A blood ring is when the embryo started to develop but then dies and the blood vessels dissolve forming a red "ring" that you can see during candling.... sometimes the embryo was large enough to be seen as a black "spot" or floating "thing" in the middle, depending on how far along it was before it stopped. We will be back there tomorrow nite (Friday). I will try to get a pix. Thanks.
BTW what is a blood ring?
