Candled my 4 little Bator eggs tonight....2 have little"spiders" in them, and the other 2 were clear still. My Broodys first 3 eggs I also candled tonight...2 have chicks swimming around in them, the other is clear.Should I take her clear one away? She is on day 10

My genesis arrived on Christmas Eve and I need to get it set up. I'm saving up my fertilized Barnevelder eggs to try for my first incubated hatch. Does anyone know how full the incubator needs to be before it is run?

In my meantime my Silkie is sitting on 10 eggs that I expect to hatch out sometime this week. I've moved her into my bathroom so that the chicks will be safe from the roosters. This is first hatch from a broody hen and I am super excited!

Congrats on your eggs. I can't wait until day 10 to see what I have. If it were me I might wait until day 14 or 18 on the clear ones as long as they don't smell or ooze and toss them before lockdown. Sometimes it is hard to see through some of the eggshells. Hopefully someone with more experience will have some input though.

Well, dunno if I'm a good example to follow, but even though I candle on day 10, I put all eggs right back into the incubator. I don't trust my candling skills all that much; I'm just glad to see any development! I discard the obvious duds at lockdown, day 18.
