January Hatch Buddies?

I got my eggs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now to figure this out! Hahaha! Only 3 were laid this morning, the other 3 I got were from yesterday, but they spent the night in the fridge. I'm going to try anyway with them because I"ve heard of fridge eggs hatching.....we will see! Two of the ones that were laid today were COVERED in poo, so I wiped them off as gently as I could, but had to use a damp paper towel to get the poo to budge.

Hopefully I didn't do too much damage.

Currently they are sitting sideways in the egg carton, with the smaller end down a little more than the fatter end. How long should I let them "settle" do you think, and should I turn them completely upside down or leave them on thier sides?

Got them from a friend of mine. So neither, haha! But she's local, just across town. There was a hen sitting on the 3 of them this morning, and they were a little warm. Then the other three were fridge temp. I got all 6 of them and set them sideways in the carton and let them sit for a little bit and cool/warm up. But they sat in my truck for a bit (not too hot or cold down here right now) and now they are on the kitchen counter. I don't want to let them sit longer than I have to, but I want to make sure they have done all the "settling" they need!

Oh wow, I still haven't put them in, hahaha! I think I will go do that now.

Hey everyone.. I've been MIA since August.. been crazy here with health issues, multiple deaths in the family (5 in just 3 months). We have eggs on lockdown as of tonight.. due to hatch Jan 1!! This is our 2nd attempt at hatching.. 1st one didnt do so well

I had the same bad luck with my first hatch WindDancer... this is my second attempt as well but mine aren't due until the 13th. Sorry to read about your losses, and sending you lots of good vibes for your hatch

Day 8 and my two little eggs are dancing away tonight in their shells. It is so exciting! They are brewing away in their shells, in our homemade incubator. I have candled them since day 3, and still thriving! We are looking forward to out first hatch, Due January 11. We are hoping for at least one peep...Mama is a buff Cochin, and Daddy is a Blue Cochin. We are excited to see the final color outcome too! Here is a picture of Daddy(Rex)...He is my little man and will attack anyone else but me. Very flattering
