Tomorrow morning is day 18 for my silkies!!!! Lock down with the 6 good eggs, so excited! I candeled tonight to see how they were, saw movement in all of them, so they must be getting ready- If all goes well these will be my 1st to hatch in 20 years LOL, geez that makes me feel OLDER than dirt!

I turned on the small bator, added the water to get the humidity & temp right, will move them to it tomorrow so as not to interupt the other eggs in the big bator

HOpe a Swidish Flower Hen can take our hard winter and hot summer as i think i am getting some eggs....lol

70 eggs set.
49 hatched so far today. 25 Sex link x Sex link, 24 Easter Eggers and Crested Easter Eggers.
Will try to gt pictures tomorrow.

Just set 4 eggs in the incubator today for our very first test hatch. We are planning on breeding for Olive Eggers. Our Maran, Miss Cruella De Chicken donated the eggs. If everything goes well, we'll probably incubate a larger batch this spring.

Day 7 on my shipped silkie eggs. Candled them a bit ago. 9 of 13 showing veins and even movement! Not one has a decent air cell. At least half are saddle cells and all are pretty large and wobbly. I haven't been turning them so I guess this is as good as they're going to get! I will start turning them now....I guess side to side but basically upright in a carton till lockdown? Then on their side to hatch? I hope at least some survive! Good luck everyone!

Yes start turning them now. Leave them in the carton for the entire time, even lockdown. They should have no problems hatching from the egg carton. I think it helps keep the ones that do hatch from playing soccer with the other eggs that are not hatched yet.

Best feeling in the world when you set your own eggs!!
