Hello just wandering if there were any experts on here that know everything about quail. Mine are about 7 to 8 weeks. So should be laying soon. I'm up in the tropics in the northern hemisphere.Australia Northern Territory. Just wandering when would quail lay eggs in my kind of area

If they have 14-16 hours of daylight, they can lay as early as 6 weeks....sometimes it can be as late as 12 weeks

What’s the average temperature for you right now? Also how many roos and hens?

It's about 30 degrees. Now. Probably got bout 24 Quails. Haven't really counted males and females yet. But about half girls half boys. I'm waiting for 2 breeder cages from eBay. I've got the in a big wooden walled caged floored caged roofed box run ATM.

If there’s less than a 1 to 4 ratio of boys to girls, the girls will be stressed out from over breeding. A stressed bird doesn’t lay as well as a happy bird. As soon as you get another enclosure I would recommend you form a bachelor band in a separate area. The temperature should be fine unless you see panting.

Okay no worries. Yeah I planned on putting one male to 3 or 4 girls.once I get these 2 selective breeding cages.
