Japanese Bantam Thread!

At what age are Japanese bantam roosters sexually mature. Right now I have them (ten weeks old-crowing-getting adult feathering) with my silkie and serama hens. I'd rather not have them crossing willy-nilly.
My rooster is a year old and is VERY FRISKY. He has 4 hens and loves all of them....

She's 17 weeks. Hatched her and 4 others (along with some other breeds) and lost those 4 plus 2 more others when my brooder light burned out their first weekend. She's the only BTBJ I have left. :(


I was curious to age as I'm wondering at what age they begin to lay. Most of my serama were around 16 weeks, my silkies 20-24 weeks when they started to lay eggs.

From the comb size I'm guessing your hen has not started to lat yet.
