Japanese Bantam Thread!

32 seems like a dream to me. We're finally a bit above 0 F. Come June the wife and I with all our pets/stuff head south. I'm looking forward to complaining bout 32 instead of our temp a week or so ago -31.

What kind of bator do you have? There are lots of incubating threads here that can help you, and I'd be happy to help any way I can. Don't worry...
 
We just candled one from the 16th and its got all kinds of veins my son is so excited we are actually using a Little Giant incubator

Are you sure she is done laying? Often hens will brood sporadically at first because they are not quite done with egg laying. I have a silkie right now that has been acting like a broody, clucking and fluffed up, off and on the nest, but she is still laying eggs. Going by what she has done in the past she will soon start brooding full time.
 
i number the eggs and write down the date in an "egg log" (im OCD) so this egg was laid on the 16th at 10 am lol. I have a cheat sheet for candling that shows what the egg should look like day by day and looking at this one its 5 days today. i
