Oh, I really like your bucket nest! Good idea! I wish I had thought of that! You could even screw it to the wall up off the ground, if you prefer.

Good job thinking outside the (nest) box! lol

$25 for one nest at the store and you still have to put it together, no way!
They like their cardboard box nests better though. I will have to remember to buy/find more of them. They are under the roost, even though the real roost is on the other wall. The poo falls on the boxes and if I switch them out, it will be easier than trying to clean a poo rack.

Cardboard... go to remember that. I have used dog houses (that I already had but not been used by a dog yet), I have used a platform in a corner... I don't have many traditional nest boxes at all.

I think with Bantams, cardboard boxes will work great. Since they are much lighter, they shouldn't mush the box as fast as bigger birds.

I wouldn't know. I bought a family flock. So I don't know anyone's age, lol!
