yeah I'd love to get some improved bloodlines for my auburns, but with them having such close blood ties I'm not having much luck. I love the mottled javas. if only i could win the lotto and room ,feed and such would not be a problem.

I cannot improve on 1 thing you said !!
And I want updates on all the chicks hatching !
I sent 22 eggs to a freind in BC (Canada) and she hatched 20....................that was in December !
I gotta get back at her & see if she will post photos here...

Most folks I know over here on the Pac Ocean raisin Favs call them Favs...Salmon Favs.
You know those funny bearded multi colored 5 toed weird birds ?

I tease a few of my friends alot about their 'FAVS'

BTW how old is the pullet ?
Also, where did you get her/eggs ?
Oh and I got another girl friend out here that raises (and shows) all flavours of call duck !

We must be having spring here before the rest of you, although a few Michiganites regularly visit the WA thread and have reported spring weather there.....eggs are flying outta my girls here !
I am still leary about starting my gadren starts, last year 2011 Feb 24th ::



Pen netting overhead was so bogged with snow we beat it off over & over with the broom.............on every pen, round the clock for days !!!



What ? No Barbecueing to night ???????????



And inside the brooder house I am hatching game chicks for a client.
So, I linger on planting my seeds for the garden, and I will tell you it is getting awfully hard to hold back !!!

I got eggs from lorad on byc. she is a little over 6 months.
I dont think i could get away with any more call ducks.
All though I do need a patel duck.

She is beautiful...and looks passive & good tempered and nice blue/slate legs.
Are her soles yellow ?
As if she has walked through mustard ?
Lorad is well respected here on BYC.
This was not one of those horrible egg/shipping incidents you spoke of, is it ?

This is one of my pullets at show way too early to think about winning in any class as she was just 4 mo old, but I chose to show her because I wanted the breed OUT THERE !!
The pullet above & a cockerel will go to show March 17 at Monroe WA and this time, they will be 6 mo old
