I have 8 Reds all of which were laying. In the past week I obtained 4 baby chicks and 4 ducks, the hens are afraid of the baby ducks. Some seem curious, some don't care. Anyways, 4 of the hens quit laying, jealousy?

Welcome to BYC.

Your post reads a bit like you must have mixed the chicks and ducklings in with the mature hens? If not, perhaps you can explain how they are being house that would give the hens reason to be jealous.
If the birds are mixing, any disruption in production is due to stress (any changes in flock members, surroundings, etc. can be a stressor for a bird), not "jealousy".

Okay, thanks, they are separated, the little ones from the mature hens. They can hear them (and me talking to the chicks) and see them from a distance. They just seem upset.
