We just lost a 8 month old jersey giant hen
she was egg bound and didnāt make it. As I was trying to help her, I noticed that her vent was abnormally small. Smaller than what our bantam silkie has! It was actually hard to even find under her feathers. Iāve never seen anything like it and it is no wonder she had this problem.
She was from our first set of jersey giants and we love how pretty and good natured they are...but before we continue with this breed I want to Make sure this small vent thing isnāt a breed issue.
Anyone know if this is a genetic problem with the breed or if she was just unlucky?
