Unsure on what gender he/she is

you can see it in previous photos. Unless this is a different chicken. I certainly see hackle feathers though.

Look at the sharp points on the feathers. Hens are soft rounded tips.

Look at the hen picture you attached all nice in line, even, rounded edges,
Look at the one under that sharp pointed tips, separated, (they will fall to the side). Same thing with the tail end of the bird. Your picture they are all nicely rounded and in line, in the picture I circled in red of the tail end you see sharpe pointy tips.

Here’s one of my posts. We got unsexed BJG from a small hatchery that gets BJG eggs from a breeder. The male hardly had much tail until a couple months ago. The female in this link has a tail, but the boy does not. The female had a completely black face and small comb till she got closer to laying eggs at around 24-28 weeks.

The part you circled in red is of broken tail feathers. They aren’t sharp and pointy, the hen just has a scruffy tail, which should grow back when she molts.
