Hi all, we have a ten week old mixed flock and I'm afraid our Black Betty (Jersey Giant) is actually a Black Burt.
Crowing has started in the mornings and randomly throughout the day, and the more we look at the crown and waddles, they seem more pronounced that a hen.
We heard that sometimes hens will crow if they are dominant, so we're keeping our fingers crossed that we still have a Betty.
Can anyone familiar with Giants help us figure this out?

Ten weeks? Yeah...that's a roo :-(
The wattles scream roo..I did have a crowing hen once though. After I got my first roo (Now have fifteen, lol!) she stopped.
Beautiful roo though!

Shoot! That's my husband's favorite.
Any thoughts on how to find him a home in Colorado? We can't have roosters in the city.
