hi! it’s me wanting to confirm another one of my random Meyer Hatchery chicken. 15 week old should be a pullet.
Thought she was an Australorp but now she is a little bigger than everyone else (including the fully mature Easter Egger in pics) the last 2 pics are from today, other pics are a week + old, hence the comb color change.
Thanks again!

and she never had white on the tips of her feathers...

My initial chick order of mixed breeds included 1 Black Australorpe and 1 Black Jersey Giant. I ended up getting 2 Black Australorpes in the shipment. My Australorpes were among the biggest birds in the flock, but never really the biggest. I suspect that you have an Australorpe, but time will tell as a Black Jersey Giant will soon tower over your other birds.

I went crazy trying to see if one of my black birds had pink, yellow or white feet, as that seems to be the deciding issue between being a Black Australorpe or Black Jersey Giant. However, after reading further into the issue and getting feedback from the good people here on BYC forums, I learned that hatcheries do not always breed true to standards and even feet color might not hold true.

Very cute picture of your child holding the bird. One for the memory books. We need more good memories in these hard times. Thanks.

I have Australorps out of Meyer. I can take a picture of them (they're definitely pullets--confirmed layers) for you to compare them to. Your bird looks a little iffy but mine did too, especially their tail feathers.
