So my roo has begun crowing and I'm going to eat him. He is only 6 months old though, should I wait another 2 months before I do the deed or will he be meaty enough now to eat?

JG usually grow their bones first then the meat, let it grow alittle.

I concur. I have several JG hens and one Roo. He crossed with the Silverlaced Wyandotte and had several chicks that looked funny at first because of the big legs but takes longer to fill in thier body. HUGE eggs.

I gave my Amish neighbor a couple JG/OP mixes he said it was the tallest chicken he's ever seen.
