Jersey Giants - a question

Quote:
Ummmm, not as sharp as my really sharp chickens (which are EEs) but close. Just because they're big and lumbering, and docile, don't mean they stupid.

It may be only my imagination, but my JGs THINK about things. Perhaps it's JG Zen, but my two Jersey Giant roos appear to speculate about stuff.

Our nest boxes for our Jersey Giants are 18"x18" and 12" high. We have them in a 2x2 grid so that the bottom two are level with the coop floor. The door size is 14" h x 12" w. They do have to duck to get inside, but they don't seem to mind. They're usually the first ones to go in to roost which I guess gives them prime spots on the poles. I like that they are calm. We bought a trio of blacks at the Virginia Poultry Breeders Assoc. show last month to add to the limited gene pool we had (see my BYC page) and the cockerel we bought follows me around the yard even though we've only had him a few weeks. He stays a respectable distance from our daughter when she's sitting out on her blanket watching me work but comes close enough so that she squeals in delight. I have a feeling that once she can walk, she'll be the one following him around!

Uh oh, I think I'm being stalked.
Had I known there was going to be a photo shoot, I would have shaved and coordinated colours.
