It is too hot to ship birds right now. I really wonder how the hatcheries can do it, but the chicks can stand a higher temperature than adults.

The post office also has a temperature restriction on shipping birds other than day olds.

That's the #1 reason why I won't ship. I waited to ship a rooster last year until we were going to have a cool couple of weeks (70s max). The person bought him in July and didn't get him until September, but he arrived perky and alive.

I'm about 2 hours from Hannibal.
