Hey, Giant friends - I will have 24+ hatching eggs to ship out Monday - my person I was saving for made a last-minute reschedule, and I would hate to throw these out - if anyone is interested, I'll make you a really good deal on them - PM me!

ALL 4 Champion pullet eggs hatched !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2 outstanding Blue chicks,1 blk and not sure what color the last one is it is still drying and hiding in the back corner.
looks like 4-6 more eggs give or take a few hard to tell with such big chicks scooting around.

1 single splash chick.
it pipped and the others blocked its air and it was dead when i found it. 1 other jg and the last bcm they got too.
would have gotten 3 more if i had not checked. have 2 day 18 quiters. one more that i could find of the jg eggs that should hatch. man it sucks to loose my 1 splash.

as for the hatch I could not be happier with the chicks.

I have a white JG pullet. Well I bought it as an 8 week old pullet. now 2-3 weeks later and its comb is turning really red and it has waddles budding and turning red already. Is it normal for them to start turning red so soon or is it probably a cockeral?

I will try to later today or tomorrow I have broncitis and am supposed to be in bed. DH can do basics for chickens but I still feel better going out there at leased once myself just to check on them so I will try to snap a pic then. Its growing large pretty quick. I have some wyandotte and ameraucana pullets that are a couple weeks older in the same pen and the JG has passed them now in growth and is noticably larger than they are. I was just really supprised at how fast its turned red. Seem like over night! I think the breeder will swap for a pullet at leased I hope they do or they will not like me! I paid extra because they were sure it was a pullet!

Sometimes some chickens will grow faster, I had a BO, and she grew and grew, I swore she was a Roo, but nope. She then stopped growing and became a hen!
