to my fellow JG Breeders need some input.....For the last couple yrs we have been showing our flock in the open shows around the state. Last yr our show hen developed a lump on her breast just after the spring shows. After many attempts to treat this she later died. No one else in flock developed this system. Now hear we are 1 yr later and our black show hen has developed this lump on her breast. Any ideas on causes or cures?![]()
Again no one else in the flock developed this or currently has a lump checked all.
Wynette.. at first I checked to see if it moved, under the skin, tumor growth, or local infection. I concluded that it would not move tumor like on the upper breast above the bone. we put he by her self to Dr her. we added anti to her water and put neosporen on lump in case of local infection. It is hard not spongy no fluid fulled. This one is just like the one we had last yr with lump.I would really like not to loose this hen. So any help on Dr would be very appreciated. Only our show hen developed this last yr now same for this yr. We keep our show hens up the week before show then 2 weeks after show then back to flock. I really don't know what it is.Is it some sort of tumor? What did you do to "treat" it? Do you have pictures? Is it hard, spongy, fluid-filled....?
