Does anyone know how or if it is even possible to sex chicks at about 2 weeks old via comb or other ways besides vent sexing as i have no idea how to do that. I got 3 black jg babies a couple weeks ago and adore them! So excited they are here!

Can u post some pictures I hatched 10 8 weeks ago and I asked the same question to this thread but didn't get an answer. I kept two they both had different feathers comb so I was hoping on getting a roo and hen the one that developed faster meaning more feather tail and wing feathers was a roo the ones that developed slow were pullets

I saw a video on you tube a dirty jobs episode on chicken sexing. They were looking at the feathers on the end of the wing and pullets had staggered length feathers and cockerel had the feathers all the same length. I have a batch of 2 weekers that I am waiting to see if this is working for me. But watch the video.

I think I may have a mix in one on my JG's. I just noticed her in the sunlight today and saw she has brown feathers mixed in on her neck! I am not happy! I was told they were JG and they came from a breeder!


I was not told they were mixed! UGH!!!!!!!

Although it isn't desirable to have brown in giants it does sometimes occur even in full stock birds, same as with other animals. You may very well have pure giants but they just may have some undesirable coloring in the mix that would be DQ in the a show.
