Personally, I have never had a people aggressive JG rooster. and honestly, in 25 years of birds, I can only think of but a handfully of roosters that were hard core aggressive. 

My Giants are fairly laid back, but do well in a mixed flock.  If you are getting only one rooster, any from the three breeds should be relatively calm. Handle him when you get him, and things should go smoothly.

I am trying to get an idea of the size, what is the width of the boards on the right side, how old is he?

I really like this blue pullet, and the black just behind her. Great job!

The Boards I believe are 1X8's (Store purchased) the ones behind him are rough cut. (I use the horse stalls in summer fall for overflow).

He was born late Feburary. So a little over 6 months. He stands between 24-26 inches I believe. But to be honest I have not measured him.

Framac, he reminds me a bit of a cockerel I held back from the eggs I hatched from a breeder named Cliff Johnson - I believe they are almost 6 months now, and I have high hopes for this cockerel:



He was 5 months here; his back appears to be longer than your male, Framac, however - his hackles haven't gotten their full adult fullness yet, and that always makes the back look shorter. I'm actually showing him on 10/12, even though he's really too young to be shown. I am hoping the judge who judges him sees his potential. I'll show a pullet from the same hatch, just for the heck of it, though I do believe this male is nicer than she is. Oh, he is definitely horizontal on his topline; he's just standing a bit awkwardly as he'd just hopped on the roost (that I removed the next day!)

That Blue Pullet I think will be special. She has more frame than any other pullet, as long as she fills it in.

All in all I am very happy with the pullets. The little black one with the blue is about 2 months younger than the blue (May vs July Hatch).

I am pleased with one act of indecision. About a month ago I sent a bunch of culls to auction. In my First giant hatch, i had 5 chicks, 4 cockerels and 1 pullet. I was going to only keep one blue and one black cockerel. I opted to keep both black cockerels. Well the blue has not grown at all, and is firmly slotted into the cull group, the second black over the last month has grown 20% or more, and has that long/flat top line, and is really filling out. While he does not yet have the nice feathering of the other black cockerel, ha is quickly climbing.

5 months is such a awkward stage for giants, or at least the giants i have raised. Your's does have that nice long straight top line. I am guessing it is either the way he is standing or his age, but in that photo his chest looks, strange to me.

Any idea on his weight? I'd put my two blacks in the 8-10 range at around 6 months. I noticed my neighbor (A falconer) has a electronic bid scale. I think I might have to borrow it.
