Your rooster looked kind of scrawny like mine at that age, big body and tiny looking head until their hackles grew out. I hated this stage. I see good sheen, willowing in the legs, and long bodies. It will be good to see their progress over the next 6 months. How do your combs look. I don't see any real details from this distance.

Let me see if I can up load some photos, my first try on BYC that will show some of my 7 week olds that display of four of the five variations of the Blue Jersey Giant - Black (BB), Blue (Bb), Splash (bb), and what I often incorrectly label as Lavenders and Charcoals for clarification of imagery sake - others use the terms Self-Blues/Silvers or Muted Blacks.

From Left to Right: A Blue closest to the fence, my Splash Rooster next, a Black showing his sheen, and a Lavender to the far right.

Here is a better photo of my Splash,

so you may compare it to one of my Lavenders or what most of you have labeled a Self-Blue.

I'm still working on my combs: the points are not evely spaced as well as they could be and the 6th one is not as well defined in the front; you can still see the Java in her blade. I am sorry the photo is a little fuzzy.

And here are a few of my newbies selecting the next CD to throw into the player (got to keep culture and class in the Jersey Giant)

I have two adults, they came from Maria Halls last September as starters. I think they are beautiful, but I am more excited about my adolescent splash rooster, because he has beautiful markings and symmetry throughout where my other splash the same age didn't have as good of feathering texture or pattern. Most of my young splashes are the Lavender color instead of the Splash pattern. I can tell my lavenders from Sand Hill Perserve.

Here is an example of one of Sand Hill's lavenders (4 days younger) that I got this year, not bad just different. I still plan on keeping her to see how she grows out at least for now.

And here is the photo of my Lavender, again, that I hatched for comparison

Give me some time and I may have a couple of dozen for you. That is the most of what I am getting with these hatches, but I need hens for now so I am not committing them until I can tell the sex for sure., But I am sure I will have a rooster if you are interested.
