Of course at this time where I have naked backs, the combs on them are turning a bit pink

has anyone ever had to trim the JG nails? We have 5 and all the nails are so long it seems to hender the way there feet and toes lay? We have several other breeds and the JG are the only ones with long nails, can i cut them?

I have never done it myself, but I have read that many others do.

I've clipped chicken nails, but I've been lucky in that they were light enough for me to see where to stop. Best thing is to nip off the tips, and have a bit of flour with you incase you get some bleeding.

The worst is clipping my finches nails. Finches are sooo tiny, and their nails are tiny. I always feel like a bully!

Here is my first Jersey girl, Charlotte. She is about 3 months. I wish I had picked up a few more Giants but wanted a variety in my 5 girls.

Oh WOW, they have sure grown. They look great! You sure did get a great variety. Thanks for posting the pictures!

Pic 7 and 9 of the same chick. He/she is the last egg-the one I rescued. Upside down and pooped in the shell and had a very fast respiratory rate. I just kept her warm and eventually she got over it.

When they've grown a bit, I don't show, but I will be curious to hear a critique of how they compare to SOP
