I don't understand. Why does it matter if you sell to someone who knows nothing about breeding for profit/sales?
They have pink soles. I don't want someone to breed Jersey Giants with defects.
There are a LOT of people out here who will take random hatchery quality birds and breed them in small to large scale for (what the hope) profit, and there are a lot of people who fall for their claim of being reliable "breeders." (not saying these are hatchery birds, no!)
I like your story! Its very funny the roster didn't like the Dale Hat! I wonder was it red? Maybe he thought the red would be like a comb of another rooster. Char

The hat was blue. I think it is that Dale is from NC and my roo is from Missouri. That why he is cool with the Rusty Wallace hat. I really think it is because of the 88, Charlie(My Roo) probably thought they were eyes.

This is why I ended up selling all my original stock. The more I learned about them, the more I became discouraged every time I looked at what I had.
I'm now super pleased that I spent the time to research the heck out of the breed & chose two of (in my opinion) the best and most experienced Giant breeders out there. My birds look really, really nice...I'm very pleased with them! Just working on 6 point combs. Funny, I have not enough points in my Jerseys, too many in my Marans! ARGH!
Which the sad part is - The stock I got from your previous fellas all had 6 points.
I too though am working on a Marans dilemma - I only have so many five point Black Coppers (no Wheatens at all), and they all either have side springs or a fold in their comb.
Side sprigs supposedly indicates Penedesenca in there somewhere...I know my line doens't have it, but..??? However, the point deduction is small for comb issues.
