I, also, play the dominance game with my roosters. They must move when I come walking. I knock them off hens if they happen to be near me. One tough roo I had to catch and then I pinched him on his back and neck as if I was a roo biting him. He respected me after that.
But, I would never trust a roo around a child.

Hi, I'd like to broaden my line of Giants and would love to hear your insights on the known good points of different lines.

Not-so-good points would be interesting too, but I don't want to upset anybody! If you would like to share a negative about a line but don't want to do so in public, please PM me, I will consider everything I hear but won't pass it on.

I'll start off: My blue and splash giants are from Bobbi Porto's line. They have excellent, dark black eyes, willow green / black legs with yellow soled feet and are rather timid birds. Blue color is even with understated lacing. Splash tends to be almost an even pale grey with darker hackles. They have a good tall stature. Where I feel they could improve is in overall weight, tail feather structure, and comb shape (number of points, and regularity). Please note, I only started with a few birds so I don't have a representative sample of this line! I've seen photos of gorgeous combs on her other roosters.

Anyone else? I'm especially interested in hearing about eye color, plumage on your blues and splashes, personality, vigor, and any unusual quirks a line might have.
