Chapter 31
"Hello? Where is everyone," Rupert asked.
"Help," Gabby squeaked behind a tree.
"Why'd you all hide," Sonny asked them.
"Becausssssse! My feet hurrrt," Jazmine whined.
"And that's why you didn't go into the cave? You freaked us out!" Sonny scolded.
"Hey! We had a hawk circling around, too," Leaf defended. "This tree was our quickest option!"
They then walked into the cave, but Sonny noticed something. Jazmine's feet were swollen and had a scab on the sock of her foot.
"Hey, Jazmine," Sonny asked, "are your feet okay?
"Noooo," she whined.
"Put your feet in this cold water," Felix offered after digging a small spring up in the cave. Jazmine proceeded, but her feet did not get better.
Soon, Fenix and the rest of them returned.
"I know what this condition is called," Sunny explained.
"What is it," Jazmine asked.
"It's called bumblefoot. When we were just chicks ourselves, a Salmon Faverolle who always liked to hang out in this particular nesting box got it. The human had to do surgery on it," Gingernut explained.
"What's surgery," Leaf asked.
"It's when a human opens up a part of you to help you get better," Nikki explained.
"Yuck! You aren't doing that to me!" Jazmine said.
"We can't," Fenix said.
Soon, though, they heard footsteps coming into the cave. Everyone was here, what was going on?
