We are also chosing to get our hens though they are in "non-compliance" to our towns zoning ordinances. I am normally not a rebel...but I need to be able to take care of my family in all situations!

Chickens should not be outlawed. They are very entertaining, they pay their owners feed costs back in eggs, they smell less than a cat box or a wet dog, they eat your bugs and weeds. The only reason I can see that some places prohibit them is that chickens do not have an organized PR campaign. To start I suggest that next time you see Angelina Jolie throw a hen in her arms and sell the photo to the national media. Until then sign me up.

Please add my name and all to support your cause, and mine. If people can have dogs that bark when I walk down the street, I should be able to have a few chickens. Also, cats run rampant in my neighborhood, use my garden spot as their litter box. It's unconstitutional not to be able to have chickens and especially my beloved roosters.

LEGALIZE CHICKENS! I have had my share of problems with the Association, Code enforcement Police, and Animal control.
the chicken is no more than just a bird. it makes less mess and noise that a large parrot (aka macaw or cockatoo) my bantams are smaller and friendlier than some parrots and they aren't obtained by illegal means like some parrots yet parrots are legal.
just like what was said before, we all need to learn to be more self sustaining and what a better way to start?

The science and education that my kids have learned through raising these birds is incomparable to the biology science they teach in school.
CHICKENS ARE OUR PETS! DO NOT OUTLAW PETS!

I am totally in support of this law.

Where I live, chicken coops must be 75 feet from a neighbors fence -- but tennis courts only have to be set back ten feet!!!! Which would you rather wake up to on a Weekend morning?? -- cooing chicks or BANG!BANG!BANG! etc???
