I can tell you when your going to get an egg. It's when you give up and think your never going to get one. So just give up and it may happen. I'm sorry I can't join your club.

I just have to brag. Maybe you could print this out and put in your coop to show the hens what they look like. I had a couple double yokers that's why the two are so big.

But to their credit, they are from excellent breeders so very slow to mature. Hopefully it will mean a long egg-producing life. They are gorgeous, too. Deep, dark red.

Can I join? My chickens are all 27 1/2 weeks and my 11 Buff Catalanas are laying about 7 creamy white eggs a day, and one of my Ameraucanas is laying a blue-green egg every other day. I'm still waiting for brown eggs from my Chanteclers and Barred Rock, chocolate eggs from my Barnevelders, and little white eggs from my Polish.

I want to join the club too, I have 16 that are right around 27 weeks and none of them are laying yet.

I had to go and buy some older hens just to get some eggs, cause my original group is being really stingy! I now have 22 standards and get 4-5 eggs a day and 18 bantams that lay maybe 3-4 a day.

For some reason its just not 'as fun' gathering eggs from chickens you know were already laying when you bought them (although its still fun lol). I want my very first chickens...especially the EEs...to give me eggs!

How about those of us with chickens that were laying just fine and then went on strike with no notice from the union?

Maybe I can join because my EE's are not laying. Does that count? Those are the ones I can't wait to see the eggs.

I am finding that some of my girls are free loading too. I have about 50 chickens and I get about 30 eggs. All the sudden I'm getting some weird little eggs so somebody's been partying and not getting down to business.

My EE that hatched April 19th has yet to lay an egg. Yesterday I got one from everyone else. Not sure why she's holding out. The others have been busy for a couple of months.
