Hi there,
Like many others, I have been reading posts on BYC for a long time. Funny how you can be as shy in a forum as you are in person - it has taken me a long time to jump in! Anyway, we have about 20 chickens of various and mixed breeds and 8 Bourbon Red turkeys. Last spring was the first time we hatched any of our own. I had no idea how exciting that was going to be! When those little ones started cracking their shells, I could hardly get anything done because I didn't want to walk away from the incubator. All of the young ladies are laying now, but they are not as compliant as their moms - they are laying all over the place instead of in the coop. Speaking of...I better get off here and go check on everyone.
