Jonny Anvil's.... "The Duck Hut" (still in progress)

Hey Everyone.... Thanks again for all the wonderful comments about the coops.

The Holiday trailer in the background is an Oxygen Trailer... lol made by Bonair. A very hard to come by and sought after unit.
Belongs to my Grandfather.

Here is a link with some info about it

Considering the origin of ducks and the fact that they splash around in any water they can find for the most part I let it go, but I do change the water every Sunday. I say that every week I give them a fresh bath. But they get fresh drinking water 2 times a day.

Here is another angle of where our Birds live.

it looks like in the pic that the kiddie pool was burried partly into the ground. i wanted to do that with my gooses pool but was worried it would be hard to dump. is you pool easy to dump out?

Thank you! That looks like a nice, basic economical shape for a coop. I might do something like it for my next chicken coop

I appreciate all the nice comments.... My family came over and I mean 60+ people if you include friends and extra guests for a celebration of life, as my nephew has finished his cancer treatments. And I got a few comments here and there. Most people kept asking who built them, and my father proudly told everyone I did.
Kind of a Black sheep in the family.... a very well known black sheep...lol

Actually I am building another one just like this one, but might do it without the hardware cloth on the floor... not sure.

I am glad that I have inspired you and this honestly is a great idea for an economical and practical application for a back yard chicken Coop.
Me I am Raising it another foot or so off the ground.

I have intentions of building another one later on yet, and placing it on the other side of the property as a Hospital or a segregation pen for birds that need quarantine.

i have some ducks and man are they loud but they love our little cage in our pond for them

Yeah they can get loud... especially when we go to feed them.... OMG what a riot.

will be eventually updating their pond, wanting to make it a little more larger as well more practical with a drain for easier clean up.
It's Sunday, so pond clean up day today.
