Does anyone grow josta berries (a cross between black currant and gooseberry) in their chicken yard for shade and treats?

I just planted two of them! I can't wait until they grow into huge bushes!

Yes. I enclosed them with a cylinder of plastic netting to keep the chickens from eating them up. They will eat up anything.

I don't know if this is true or not but I have read that two is best for pollination:

(I bought mine from the local nursery and have not ever heard of this company before that I just linked to where they talk about pollination.)
They WILL be happy chickens if you let some of those berries drop for them. I always share everything that grows in the yard with the chickens. They LOVE it when I pick things.
