Thank you one and all. I want to know what to look for in his sons. Could the comb be bigger? Could his neck be shorter? Should his wing be shorter. The legs to shorter? Is that one big feather in his fluff OK? Stuff like that.
Three of my hens need work. One wing, one pointed tail, and more feathers on middle toe.
I just could not bring him to a show. They would not let me put him in a bubble or bring a sleeping bag. I don't want to pluck around his eyes or letting them grow out and not be able to see. I need a lot of work learning how to got the toe nails looking right and not just wacked off.
Now I know a breeder. ( That sounds cool ) he has a hen that is 9 years old and has taken her to a whole lot of shows, very health. He said he gives them antibiotics before and after the show.
I'll think about taking others like a son and that will be a SilkieTime, Doc is a Indigo and I am tickled pink to have him. There is a lot of work to be done to take a chicken to the show, and a white one a little more. There is a lot for me to do and even more to learn. I just want to be the best Mom I can be, and rather be in my own back yard going my thing.
I got three hens from Bobbi and three roosters. I did sale one of these roosters to a BYC member and he is on her web page with her daughter.
