Judging the age of a bird?

I brought a 'rescue' home back in january after finding her all beat up from an attack. She was full grown when i brought her home and quarantined then introduced her to the flock.

She doesnt 'squat' anymore like when i first brought her back and she hasnt laid in the months that Ive had her and I dont know how old she is, just that shes mature. Im also not sure of her breed either.

Is there a way to judge how old a hen is when you dont know the hatch date?

Generally in the face and egg laying,but,depends on the breed escpecially since some breeds do not lay as good as others.
