My buff Orp, Mel, seems to lay…joust eggs. The eggs will come out with a lot of extra clear fluid (water-consistency) and it often wets the straw and makes the eggs dirty. Ideas? She’s had a perfect health record - probably the most perfect out of all my 6 hens.
Mel (BO):
no problems ever.
First layer, always active, healthy weight.
Bug (EE):
one small bumble on right foot
Multiple ‘weird’ eggs laid
Vanilla (Super Blue Egger):
Scary leg injury at 8 weeks old, recovered
2 past egg bindings, recovered
Pepper (Dom):
2 cases of bumblefoot, one on each foot
A couple of shell-less eggs have been laid
Salt (Dom):
sour crop, impacted crop, pendulous crop…her crop was ****ed up for a while.
A few REALLY weird eggs laid (one was just a mess of membrane)
Nutmeg (SS):
Had a few weeks in June where she couldn’t stop laying she’ll-less eggs
Small and weak as a chick
Anyways, it’s not a big deal, but it’s definitely weird. And I have to wash all the butt-juice eggs.
