I also have a broody hen due about same time. Going to try and look tomorrow to see how many she has, but she is very protective. Does anyone know if and how I could move her and her eggs to a better place?
I candled my eggs and I saw 5 babies for sure moving in the eggs. 2 more I just could not tell. 10 more I am very doubtfull about and about 10 more eggs I am sure there is nothing going on. I am using all shipped eggs so will be thrilled with any chicks at all. My expected hatch date is July 15.
12 babies so far, 2 more pipped, one died last night when he pipped the wrong end. My mom thought we weren't supposed to help it cuz she didn't realize it was the wrong end so told my sis not touch it... Bad things happen when I'm at work
Well out of the fourteen eggs I had shipped in, I've got 8 that look like they'll make it to lockdown. Lockdown is Tuesday, and Friday the 8th is my hatch day. I'm really hoping I come home from work and they're all hatched so I don't have to sit there and stare at the incubator all night.
Guess I'll head up to the feed store today and get another feeder and waterer so I can move the first bunch on over to their grow pen, and get the brooder ready for the new babies. I really need stop after this bunch, but I might go one more round. I think I'll try to find some local eggs I like though. I bought a bigger cooler so I could move all the components I put together into it, but my little cooler is working so good I'm afraid to mess with it. I might just get everything again and build the second one from scratch.
Hope everything is working out smoothly. I did peek at another Ameraucana egg last night that I was skeptical about on Wednesday and it is definitely a No-Go, so then there was 31 (6 green/blue eggs left and I only see for sure babes growing in two of them), but everybody else is looking good, except for the brown eggs which I can hardly see in so why torture myself? haha
Great pictures of your babes LuvMyBLR, I can not wait to start hatching! Twelve babes, two pips and how many eggs left again? It gets hard to keep track of everyone,

Welcome bobbieschicks, thanks for joining us! I have ONE leghorn X egg in the bator right now, I grabbed it at my neighbours from her only leghorn hen but she runs an Ameraucana roo and a Red Sussex roo, so it'll be neat to she what it looks like, plus it's the most active one rockin' in that egg!
Hey farmgirlforever18, they are kinda cute, with there BIG ol' bug eyes these pheasants, but I'm scared to even open the pen to feed/water them cause I'm scared they'll rush me and be gone. haha. I'm getting pretty dang fast!

Yesterday 11:36 pmI have 10 chickens due July 15 in incubator
I also have a broody hen due about same time. Going to try and look tomorrow to see how many she has, but she is very protective. Does anyone know if and how I could move her and her eggs to a better place?
No, I am actually headed over to my neighbours to do her chores for her and check on her broody that's been sitting forever! I better take my gloves cause the old girl is PROTECTIVE! She steals everyones eggs and tries to sit on 50 at a time and gets very angry when you try to pull the outer ones from her. I'm worried about any hatching on my watch cause she is still in with 30 other chickens and 2 roos, will they bother her chicks or should I attempt to scoop them on her and put them in my brooder? (I think that's why they never moved her, cause she's so mean about anyone coming near her.)
Hey, Christie Rhae, I'm sure you'll get some! Half of mine are shipped and half are from the neighbours so I am interested in seeing who makes out better percentage-wise...
WELCOME RedHead! You bet we do!
COOL matlock585, which breed were yours again? 10 more days here, I can't wait!
