***JULY HATCH-A-LONG come join in***

I just had two of the keets hatch out three days early! I was in Canada yesterday and got home to the 'bator at 40% humidity and saw PIPS. Ack! Tomorrow was supposed to be lockdown. Had to get the turner out and get the humidity out. The two pips are now:

yipes! Even if I get nothing else out of my 29 eggs I have two! Of course now they will be 5 days older than my shipped keets. Hopefully they can deal

Kedreeva - have you ever hatched ducks before? I feel your pain on the mess they make. I have had some learn to drink from a water bottle, which helped a lot, but didn't help them keep their nostrils clean. Every time I've had ducklings, I have been amazed at how much they can eat and how fast they grow. Whatever kind of duck those guys are, they sure are cute!

@Outback: That is a lot of really cute chicks. I can just imagine the racket they are making with their 20 voices saying "cheep, cheep, cheep

@Sundown: Are your chicks polish? They seem to have fluffy little heads.

This is my first time hatching out ducks, but I did have a duckling I got at 2 weeks of age a few years ago (maybe like.... 6 years ago now?). He pooped a LOT but he didn't make a mess of his water dish! They are doing a TON better now that they can't spill their water or take it all out with their bills while drinking.

Well today is day 21 for the 3/8 RIR/RSL eggs and nothing. I had to take 1 of the 3 out as it was oozing. All 3 were questionable at lockdown but I put them in just in case. Last batch of RIR/RSL pipped a few hrs before day 21...so Im thinking these arent going to.
