Congratulations all on your hatches!

Great Pictures....

Out of my last hatch
July 9th - 2 eggs/2 chicks
July 10 - 28 eggs/ 12 chicks hatched (only 10 survived the 105 temperature spike)

I will be unplugging the incubators and the hatcher for complete cleaning/disinfecting.
Then I will probably try the egg train/swap or purchase a few for the next incubation.

21 days was today, but they've been hatching the past 2 days.

I went online, and read about broody hatching, and this woman only does those. She says that with a hen, that it really is closer to day 20, rather than day 21.

Day 6 here, Good Lord, I can hardly stand it. What ever the breed, they are alive, and 6 is over a 50% hatch, so I think you have done good!

We just went into lockdown!!

YAY! We have 4 Sermas, 3 Wellsummers, 3 BCM's, 4 Polish... My sister says one of the wellies is not gonna make it... so we might be down to 2

But our hatch date is 15th!!! hope we get at least 2 wellies because I claimed them and my sister gets all the BCM's... We're gonna share the rest.

Well, my first hatch was pretty exciting as you can see by my other threads.

I think I may have shrinkwrapped my last few eggs by opening the bator but with a 5 day hatch I had to get some of those keets out - keets are PSYCHO! You leave them in there and not only do they race around they start pecking the other eggs.. One was reaching in and pecking the wing of a keet that was trying to hatch. Wow. Cute tho.

If *I* just hatched I'd just wanna go to sleep but these little guys just want to ZOOM.

Anyways.. bought 30, was sent 36 by a BYC member. Candled out seven as infertile/nonstarters, 29 went into lockdown (kinda - they started hatching 5 days early!). One of the early pippers died early from shrinkwrapping since I wasn't home to see the early start and to up the humidity. I still have eggs in the incubator with pips but I am not hopeful. Will leave till tomorrow and see if any are still viable. But out of my 29 eggs I have so far hatched out 15 keets, which isn't bad for a first timer with shipped eggs.

Had to assist one chick who is so far doing very well.

I'll do better next time, I hope

Yes, keets are hyper, but SO cute!

Tomorrow is Day 21 for my eggs, and they're definitely doing some rocking around in there. I hope to wake to pips in the morning.
