Follow the 101 north from Hoquiam, it starts to follow the coast just north of Queets. Keep following the 101 until it starts back inland.
That's Ruby Beach. It isn't a sand beach, it's a pebble beach. Just gorgeous, if you use the google link above, turn on the photos!
It's almost 3 hours for you, but it's 8.5 for me! Now the rest of you, keep this on the down low... I only share my favorite beach with quality people like you!
I think you did the right thing with the late eggs. I believe if those two had still been alive they would have been moving. I don't think you killed them.
GeeVee, was the double-wide from the farm then? Wonder if it will have the puffy cheeks? (I love those. *melts*) Congrats on *all* your cute chicks!!
NaomiSarah,
I'm sure you will get your babies soon! Just keep trying.
Rin, good luck with your own eggs!
Sundown, Vegas, Jett, Blackbirds, keep us posted.
Sending good vibes your way(s)!
We pulled 2 out of the 'bator last night, and 6 this morning. There was one zipping and there were three other pips when I came in here. Oh, I had to move the oldest chicks into a covered aquarium.
I was dipping one of the little ones' beak into the water and when I pulled him up there was a chick hanging from his toe!
So now they are in an activity tank with things (other than each other) to peck at and climb on.
I couldn't just
them, but
I don't want mean chicks... even if they are 'just bored'.
DD's favorite (of course) had been making a game of running up to the container I used to separate the newest 6 from the others and pecking them on the head. (Funny though, one of them stood up, and pecked her back!)
