I can hear peeping!!!!

Hmmm it's been 24 hours since the egg pipped but it's still not done much. I can hear cheeping and see the beak wiggling but not sure how long to leave before helping!

what is your humidity?

I'm not actually sure, I have just gone by the incubator instructions and filled both sides of the water well for the hatch. I need to find a little hygrometer that will fit in a brinsea mini!

Chick has hatched without my help now :wee and is very noisy! I'm a bit worried it will be the only one to hatch from this batch, no sign of anything from the other eggs.

Congratulations on your chick! Hopefully more will join it today.

Today is day 14 for my eggs; only about a week to go now. I candled this morning and discarded one that was an obvious quitter.

That leaves 7 eggs remaining (out of 9 originally set), 1 from my RIR and 6 from my Faverolles. There’s one that I’m not sure about; I think I saw movement, but it doesn’t look quite the same as the rest. I’ve left it for now. A couple of the air cells look a bit small/similar to day 7 to me. I’ve been running the incubator dry and will continue to do so (about 32% humidity currently) until lockdown and keep my fingers crossed.

Don't give up, I always have 1 early bird so to speak.
