OMG YES! I have more eggs coming this week (Easter eggers) And am already planning a new coop for bantams and am looking into who I am going to buy Silkie and Cochin eggs from for it! Thank goodness I am in good company because I think if I talked to someone who never had any chickens they would just call me crazy! (Which I may be but like I said, I'm in good company!):sick:yesss:
Non chicken people do not get it...... or at least most of them. I rediscovered this yesterday at church a friend and I were talking and chickens got brought up next thing I know she was excusing herself to talk to someone else..... lol I have learned to shrug it off and go on but most people get bored of chicken talk fast

Ack the lid keeps getting bumped ajar on my bator and the temp has dropped to 90 and then 92 a couple of times for a couple hours each yesterday and today. They seem to still be alive in there but worried now. Day 14. They are in my closet and the dumb cat has figured out how to open the door!

Being a chicken person myself I can't even conceive of finding chicken talk boring! I think about the big birds and I think about the little birds. I think about the eggs in the bator and the ones I am going to hatch for the next time. I think about making bigger coops and I think about using my space more efficiently so I can HAVE more coops! I think about bure breeds and I think about mix breeds. I think about tasty eggs from my ladies and I think about fun breeding projects...and it pretty much goes on like that all day every day! And when I tell non chicken people that they think I am crazy! All I can say to them is that if I am crazy, leave me alone because I am happier doing this than most people will ever be who live non-chicken enriched lives!:bun:plbb

Due to my cat's antics I had to go into lockdown a day early because they crashed into the incubator and 2 eggs cracked! Thank god both the chicks seem to still be alive but those darn cats can be a menace to incubating eggs! You should be okay with yours. Momma birds get up for sometimes a couple of hours at a time. I think that the worst thing that will happen is that they may hatch a little late.

It's nice to know I am not the only one.... I have branched out and have started trying to help others with their chicken trials. I have several people that call me when they have a problem, and the local feed store refers people to me with questions. .... sometimes I feel like I don't know enough so spend lots of time reading
