That's where I got my thermometer lol. I went to a computer repair shop down the street & asked if they had any used computer fans for sale, they gave it to me for free! The only thing I had to pay for was the water heater thermostat and the thermometer. I think when I get some extra income I'll get a few extra thermometers and a wafer assembly.

I am hating my wafer thermostat right now. It will be doing fine then all of a sudden it will go really high. I have to adjust it down then spend two days getting it back where I want it. Then after 3 or 4 days it goes wonky again! Grrr! I am afraid it is going o cook my eggs if I am not monitoring it every few hours.

I think when this batch is done I am going to sell my new incubator and buy some silkies to brood my eggs.

Day 20! This is always the longest day for me. My house is already spanky clean and so are all of my coops and hutches. Going out to test the temperature on my brooder...again. Arg! I don't know what to do with myself today.

Lol, so you are a nervous cleaner too huh? You can always tell if I am stressed because my house is spotless. When I an chillin my house looks like its chillin too, lol.

I like the idea of having 2 bators, one used solely as a hatcher. It would be so much easier, 

Yea, that is a great idea. As a test of my cockerels fertility I put one of my hens eggs in the incubator to see if anything came of it. I did this on day 5 of my other eggs. I candled it on day 4 and see veins and an air pocket! But now what shall I do with it when my other six eggs go into lockdown??

How cool! What are you using for a heater? Do I see a computer fan in there also?

2 60watt light bulbs for heat and yes a computer fan. Glad you like, I love making my own versions of whatever it is I need. I sure wish my husband was as handy!

That sounds exactly how this farm innovator and my friend other incubator are running. My Brinsea eco 20 octagon w turner is set. I just add water maybe once a week and open vent if gets a little too warm(101 when it was very hot last week) but for the most part its maintenance free.

That sounds exactly how this farm innovator and my friend other incubator are running. My Brinsea eco 20 octagon w turner is set. I just add water maybe once a week and open vent if gets a little too warm(101 when it was very hot last week) but for the most part its maintenance free.

I wanted a Brinsea but bought a Hova-bator instead because it was half the price. Now i see you get what you pay for :-/

Thermostat is a hard wired one for a baseboard heater. I couldn't tell you the brand unless I can find the package it came in here somewhere. I do know I bought it at menards. You can use the flimsy house ones that use telephone wire if you know what im talking about. Fan is wired to just an old AC adapter that has a 9v output. Took an old cord to wire thermostat to light.

Thanks. I just asked hubby about building me one and he said you can use the base heater thermostats like you did but don't use the ones with the telephone like wires because they will melt your electronics and maybe cause a fire. I think we might have a base heater thermostat around here, maybe I can get him to make me a lockdown incubator.
