July Hatch-a-long

I am sorry if this question has been addressed before, there have been so many posts on this thread I have not been able to keep up... We had a bad storm last night, the power was out from 1am to 9am. When I checked the incubator at 3am it was at 82 degrees, and it stayed that way for several hours. Any chance the eggs made it through?

I forgot who posted this earlier in the thread but they stopped running the incubator day 25 & forgot about the egg or took it out & put it somewhere & forgot about it... 2DAYS LATER IT HATCHED!!! What a miracle, I think! We don't give our fuzzies a whole lot of credit; although some can die easily, others are very resilient!

THE EGG WITH THE DUCT TAPE BAND AID HAS PIPPED!
I retired from the military. I don't know how many times I heard duct tape (or 100 mile an hour tape) can fix anything. I have use it for pipes, hems, hanging signs, holding on a bumper, taping for painting, even in place of a strapless bra, more than once, but I think this is the best use ever! Good luck.

Cool
thanks

I can look it up no problem. I had to make a boot for one of my hens a long time ago, she was injured. Totally thought she was going to die, put her in a chicken chair & she stayed like that for 1 month, then did physical therapy for another month with the boot the first 2-3 weeks, then without it... After that slowly integrated her back to the flock, she spent all winter inside. LOL! Now when the dogs go inside the house she follows right with them, it's so cute. I put one of my roos in a sling & did the physical therapy with him too. Lol
I have had people call me crazy just for carrying around a sick or weak chick until it was healthy enough to go back with the others. Those that I carry feel they get to come in the doggie door anytime since they are not really chickens. I love having one or two roost inside, visit or wake me up at 6. They are the ones that make me love them all so much.

At first friends didn't believe my chick comes when called or prefers to sleep with me. So I started posting pictures and videos on facebook. I had to start a seperate page just for my chickens.

Tragedy over night

A second egg hatched but a third peeped then was dead when I woke up this morning. I opened up the egg and the fully born chickie was there :( Have given him a funeral.
But there are 2 in the breeder, and looks like 1 more chick might hatch today! It's in a blue egg! Will post some pictures now!

Today I got in a new batch of eggs. 5 Polish, 4 Easter Eggers, 3 Langshans, 2 FCM, 1 Sultan and 12 Dark Cornish (for my friend). My friend asked me to hatch some for her. ( I lured her with chick cuddles and seeing my them hatch. Then I offered to hatch for her. She has know idea it's chick crack.) One of her's was cracked. I would have tossed it but I was inspired by the duct tape story. I don't know where my duct tape is so I improvised. I used a finger nail repair kit. I left the backing on to make it stronger.

I've got my first pip! It's on the egg that was too dark to see movement and had a weird side air sac. Almost tossed it at the last candling but its olive with dark spots. Too pretty to give up on. Glad I didn't!
