July Hatch-A-Long

Eggs due to hatch tomorrow and I am now nervous. temp in the bator spiked to 102 for maybe 30 minutes. Only know this due to me checking it at 7 and then again at 730. Now I wonder if I cooked them.....

I don't think 102 degrees for 30 minutes will be enough to hurt them. I've had higher and longer temperature spikes than that and still ended up with chicks. It could reduce your hatch rate but it sounds like you probably caught it soon enough that it won't be an issue. Try not to worry about it too much. Good luck with your hatch!! :)

If it's that late in incubation I think you're okay, especially since you caught it in time. Please keep us updated on your babies!

3 more days until lockdown! The wait is KILLING ME... I still have 7/14 serama eggs left (only 1 of the 2 frizzled I got was developing... It's so small I'm a little concerned! It's basically quail egg sized and is noticeably smaller than the other tiny serama eggs).

Two of the 7 eggs don't look nearly as developed as the other eggs (and one of those two definitely looks like it has a red ring developing). Two other eggs are much larger, rounder, and tan. They seem more robust than the other eggs and I'm seeing big dark masses in those two (can't really see through it when candling though).

I really hope at least 3 hatch :(

Fingers crossed for you : )

I have 40 eggs in an incubator due to hatch July 16th. They are Black Sex Link/Barred Rock/Gold Laced Wyandotte mixed. My son built an incubator and this is our second time hatching. The first time we had 9 hatch out of 60 eggs, but we found we had a few problems. This time we corrected the problems, so I am hoping we are more successful this time.

I can't take this, I want my babies NOW! :he

The pressure's getting to me, I feel like I'm gonna crack worrying about the hatch, who's gonna make it, if there'll be complications, and just overall being impatient in getting my fluffy 'lings, hehe. Good thing I can't have kids, if I had to go through 9 months of feeling like this I'd go bonkers!

My 8 silkies are due tomorrow. I think they will be late - when i candled them a few hours ago i couldnt see internal pips. They were alive though. I am so worried ... im worrying that the temperature was too low or too high, and there was an issue with air sacks being too small. They look ok now but all that waiting is killing me...

Well... i couldnt stop myself... I candled them again. I think 4 pipped internally. I heard one chirping!! So I guess we should have some pips in 5-10 hours. Im soooo excited!!!

Lock down today! I candled just before and I have 15 still developing. Three were added 5 days late, so I'm turning those by hand for a few days. I'm always the most impatient right at the end.....
