July Mystery Egg Swap . . Shipping Deadline is TODAY!!

I had 4 hatch from Dragontamer56. They are black with a yellow dot on the top of the head. From my research, I think they are Black Australorp x Buff Orpington. Am I right? I'll try to post pics tomorrow.

A rabbit hutch type of pen works perfectly for quail.

Those look like Coturnix. Mine are about the size of a mourning dove without the long tail, but they are not full grown. I don't know about weight, but they would fit on a teaspoon when they hatch. How have you been, I haven't seen you on much lately:) Deb

Some of my coturnix are 13-16 oz about 3-4 months. They start laying at 6 weeks but they keep growing for a while. you can use a lid with marbles til you can get a quail waterer you only need that while they are babies when they are 3 weeks they can start drinking from regular chicken waters or nipple system or whatever.

Oh I wish, I wish I could join!! My first chicks are still too young to lay and my neighbors chickens are laying all over the place so I don't know how old they are (I've pretty much adopted those chickens) so I guess I'll have to wait until they're all penned in and old enough to lay

I can't wait!!
