OHHH YEAAAHHH! I do remember her telling me about that...she said whoever did that was really clever! not to mention thats maybe a good thing to do on a regular basis, that way no matter what it goes to the destination you intended!!

VERY SMART THOUGH!

Learned it from my loan office days. Thought it would be rather funny to send the eggs that way

Only problem with it is, if you ever have a bad mailing address, the letter ends up in the dead letter place.

so i have 12 quail between my swap partners and 1 NN silkie/EE chick.

the little ones feets that were curled from the first hatch fixed themselves

I had one hatch from Mr. Heinz about an hour ago. It came out of a tan egg (chicken) and it is yellow with a black stripe down the back.

Maybe. Because i sent them to the same address that i got them from and i looked up your address before you blocked it for the swap after i found were i was sending eggs.

Somebody that I've sent eggs to must have taken my address off the box and used it. My eggs went to Reesepoultry, Babymakes6, and elieugene6 for July. Do you still have the box to look at the post mark?

The NN/EE will have "hard" feathers unless the EE carries the silkie gene already. It takes two copies of the silkie gene to produce silkie feathers. My guess is that you have a boy. This is a complete guess based on someone once telling me that when you cross silkies with other birds, the boys will inherit the lighter colored skin and the girls will have the "black" skin. Don't know how true it is but it seems to have held true with my crosses in the past.
