July Mystery Egg Swap . . Shipping Deadline is TODAY!!

OK Ya got me. I haven't done a swap in like three years. I guess i need some excitement in my life. Trying to guess what these 25 new assorted chicks are from ideal is not enough,LOL.

I'm in X 2!!

Since I can send a couple eggs, from each of my pure breeds, that are still laying through the heat wave....and it does not have to all be, from 1 breed.

This will be my first surprise swap. I'm looking forward to it!!

My waterfowl have stopped laying!!

We grew overnight and up to 35 entries now. Since I am going to match people up according to states - I'm gonna try to mix them all up but some of you may just be swapping off eggs with each other.

If it makes it easier for you, I am still swapping for eggs from all over so I can accept eggs from anywhere and - have 1 cold pack I could put in with eggs that need to go further. Thanks for your hard work. By the way, I've had one egg hatch so far in my home made incubator. Hoping for more today.

I am in but only one time this month. My hens are falling like a bunch of dominoes. One golden comet went broody and I gave her some chicks. So then her friend the ee wants to help raise them and no matter how many times I take her out of the pen she flys back in every morning so who knows if her eggs are fertile. Then the jersey giant hen that broody number one hatched out last year went broody. So apparently that meant she needed a friend and the silkie/americauna cross needed to be broody with her. So I give jersey giant and silkie/am chicks to share nope not happening. Jersey has chicks and silkie/am is on the nest waiting for some more to hatch in the incubator hopefully Saturday. Then since apparently the bantams cannot be outdone, how they figured out it was broody season is beyond me since they are completely separate. My self blue Cochin went broody and since they are fairly peaceful I gave her eggs. Well big mistake their she can't possibly sit on 8 eggs herself so her sister decided to help. Apparently this made everyone in there stop laying or they are hiding eggs under the building. Then my polish hen died, I think she starved herself to death. Nothing but problems with her from day one since her crest was so huge. And the geese have decided they are done for the year.

The sad part is that I picked my laying flock to be layers not setters that's what the bantams are for. The jersey giant I a good mama except when she is stepping on chicks. Thankfully I knew about that Shea of time and only gave her ones that didn't matter to much. She killed one the first day but has been pretty good since.

i will join x2 i'm taking the plunge
