What was the protein % you were feeding them and where did you order yours birds from?

It was 20% chick starter, they ate that until the end, and I ordered them from Ideal. I am very happy with their Cornish, not so fond of their Red Broilers, MUCH different and slower growing.

Did you have to cook the "turkey sized" ones any differently? I just processed my last one today, he was nearly 12 weeks, and he really was turkey sized. The breast was enormous. Im wondering if I will have to cook it any differently. Sure was gorgeous, tho.

Yeah the breasts were HUGE on mine, like 4-5 pounds of pure breast meat, each! I did make sure to cook them at a lower temp and be careful about not cooking them too long, other than that just like normal!

I bet the big ones would be really yummy deep fried in a turkey frier!!!

Mine were never fed over 20%, which is what Purina Flockraiser is, and the grew just fine. But they also free ranged every day. Id be afraid to feed them that much protein.
